What is the Most Important Thing to Know About Shelbourne?  The principles of Student Living: Love, Shared Responsibility and Mutual Respect are the guiding principles at Shelbourne.  They are the foundation of our decision-making and interactions with our students. We expect all residents to use these principles in their daily interactions with roommates and other residents.

When is Quiet Time?  Quiet time hours are 10 PM to 8AM.  No loud noises or other disturbances that might annoy or bother others are allowed during these times. Please be respectful of everyone and adhere to quiet time.
 
When is Rent Due?  Rent is expected to be paid in full prior to or at check-in. Please plan accordingly. You may pay online or in person at the office. We do not accept cash. Personal checks, Money Orders and credit or debit cards are accepted. There is a convenience fee for using credit and debit cards.

Who Provides Shelbourne Internet?  Our Internet provider is Optix.  They provide the fastest internet available in Rexburg. Wireless Internet service is available throughout the complex, but Ethernet service is not available. If you are having problems with the internet please contact the Optix help desk at 208-242-3711.

When Are Office Hours?  Office Hours are 10 AM to 2 PM, or by appointment if you are unable to make it during those times. Just call or email the manager and we will find a time that works for you.

What About Laundry?  Laundry is free, but you will need your laundry card to access the machines. You may use either the north or south laundry rooms. The laundry is open from 8AM to Midnight. We have 2 laundry rooms, one at each end of the complex.

What About Parking?  You must have a properly displayed permit to park in our parking lot. Cars without a permit will be booted or towed. Permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and will not be issued until the parking permit fee has been paid.  This can be paid online or in person at the office. Visitor parking is located at the south end of the parking lot and is clearly marked.

What Should I Bring With Me?  While Shelbourne provides a furnished apartment home for your use, you will need to provide the following:

Personal linens in size twin XL, including a full mattress pad.  BYU-I Housing Guidelines and your

      contract require use of a mattress pad (separate from your fitted sheet) by all residents.
Clothes hangers     
Bath and hand towels
Pots and pans (You might wish to check with your roommates to avoid unnecessary duplication of 
kitchen items)
Dishes and silverware
Cooking utensils
Cleaning supplies
Laundry Supplies (HE detergent, fabric softener, etc.)

When is Check In?  Check in and check out dates are established by the school. Everyone is expected to follow the dates and times unless prior arrangements have been made with the manager.  Students arriving early or leaving late will be charged a daily rental rate. All students, even those staying over the semester break or returning from the previous semester, are expected to check in with the manager.

 When is Check Out?  Please see check in above, the same rules apply.   All students must check out with the manager, even if they are staying in their apartment for the next semester.

 When are Lounge & Gym Room Hours?   The lounge and exercise room are open 8 AM to Midnight.

 Does Shelbourne Have a Piano?  Yes, Shelbourne has a Kawai piano for students who wish to use it. It is located in our lounge.

 Where May I Park my Bicycle?   Bicycles may be parked in the stairwells as long as they do not impede pedestrians or block access to the stairs.

 What if There is a Maintenance Problem in my Apartment?  If there is a problem that poses an immediate safety issue or danger of property damage (e.g. a water leak) please notify the manager immediately.  If after hours, please go to the manager’s apartment unit. How Far is Shelbourne from Campus?  Shelbourne is Located 2 blocks away from the south part of campus, the Austin, Benson and Taylor buildings. It is about a 10 minute walk to the center.

How Far Away is the Nearest Grocery Store?  Broulim's is 6 blocks from Shelbourne. They offer delivery service for $8 if you place your order in person. There is also a student run delivery service.

Does Shelbourne Have Air Conditioning?  Yes, we have individual furnaces and A/C units for each apartment.

​Are Utilities Included in the Rent?  Yes, a reasonable cost of utilities are included in the rent.
